While there is no limit to the number of OUT OF WORK books you can sign, once taking a call you must take your name off all other OUT OF WORK books. The only exception is your home local. When taking a short call, your name should come off ALL OUT OF WORK books except the one your working out of and your home local. Many locals will tell you it’s okay to leave your name on their OUT OF WORK books if you are working short terms-THIS IS WRONG. The reason it’s wrong is because other Brothers or Sisters on the OUT OF WORK book with you may not have the same opportunity to work short terms. While your working putting money in your pocket, they may be starving trying to catch a call to feed their family. For you to walk in and still take a call in front of them is WRONG. The members working in the hall are not on the road making a living…it is not their decision to make. It is an ethical one, and it’s YOURS and YOURS ALONE! Don’t just be a card carrying member…BE A BROTHER.
